Sensory Garden Pond Project Begins

Calling all green-fingered helpers... Our next great project to build a Sensory Garden Pond in the grounds of SPS to further our outdoor learning environment begins this term.
We are very pleased to confirm that our project to build a school pond begins next week. A team of volunteers from the North West Kent Countryside Partnership will be at school on the following days :
Thursday 17th, Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th, Wednesday 30th, Thursday 31st January
February - Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th
If you would like to assist with this project, on any of the days, your help will be greatly appreciated. In order that suitable, protective footwear can be supplied, please let the office know (attention of Sarah Ratcliffe) your shoesize and the day/s you can help.
The pond project also needs a supply of materials suitable for buffering , so that stones, rocks and other sharp objects do not pierce the pond lining. If you have any of the following, please bring them to school so that they can be used as a protective layer : Old towels; pieces of carpet or underlay (no staples or tacks); throws; bedspreads; blankets; duvets; sheets or other suitable material.
The children and staff at Sevenoaks Primary are all looking forward to this exciting new step in outdoor learning and will be sharing with you progress on the pond and surrounding area this term.
