Term 4 Newsletter 5

Dear Parents

Thank you for attending the Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday.  We are still awaiting confirmation of funding raising total, but it looks to be in the region of £800.   The committee wish to thank everyone for their hard work in putting the event together and also to the parents for turning up and making it a success!

Apologies for having to shut preschool last Wednesday morning, we hope you were not inconvenienced too much.   As compensation, we will be opening up for an additional session on Monday 30 March, 9am-12pm, only for those who missed the Wednesday session last week.

Monday Lunch Club reminder:

Thank you to those who have already submitted payment for Lunch Club.  The sessions are £7.50 each or £37.50 if you wish to sign up to all 5 Lunch Clubs.   Just a reminder that Lunch Club starts the first Monday we are back after Easter, on 20 April, straight after the morning session.   If you wish to pay on the day, please ensure £7.50 is handed to Tracy at drop off.

Drop off and Pick Up Times reminder:

Morning sessions, drop off is 9am and pick up is 12noon.

Afternoon sessions, drop off is 12.45pm and pick up is 3.15pm.

(The door opens five minutes before the end of the session, at 11.55am or 3.10pm)

We appreciate, that some children are late in the morning because they have to drop older siblings at other schools in the area.

Afternoon children need to be picked up, at 3.15pm, before siblings are collected from the school.

Any concerns please speak with Tracy.

Any stray Parental Declarations, please could you return.   If you have lost the form, just ask for another.   Legally, we must keep a record of all children’s funding claims.   If we do not, Kent County Council (KCC) have the right to withdraw funding.

Garden update:

We are on track to have our garden laid over the Easter break.  Every few years we have to have our garden redesigned as the rain turns our garden into a mud bath.    Therefore, it will prove cost effective to lay astroturf instead of grass seed.   This will enable children to ‘freeflow’ between the indoors and outdoors without having to stop and put their wellies on and then back off again.

We will still use the school grounds for welly walks and nature walks.
